I used to be a college dropout for some reason. I was deep down the abyss of despair and thought that my life would be over. There were times when I was even trying to kill myself.
But I didn’t do it. Instead, I realized how important I was to my family, so I waged a war against my fate. I chose to teach myself English as a way to break it through.
Fortunately, I made it. I managed to become a self-taught English teacher. And before long I started my own English training school.
In the process of doing business, I still have run into many obstacles, but I know there is always a solution to them as long as I choose to believe in myself.
So my advice to those who are struggling with English learning is that: take your time to learn, take your time to grow, and everything is going to be fine as long as you don’t stop.

英语学习的动力和益处——四月老师
The motivation to learn English comes from my grandfather and the excellent classmates around me.
My grandfather studied in Europe. I played around while he worked at home. I am deeply impressed by the idiomatic oral English and the beautiful English words of grandfather. I love grandpa, want to be like him, also want to make him happy, so I will study English carefully.
I did my Master degree in Oxford.The students around me are all excellent, with good grades, talents and personalities. Many people can speak multiple languages. The point is that even then everyone is working hard. Therefore, in addition to learning professional knowledge well, I also took time off to sign up for many learning classes around the world, all of which were in English and French. At that time, I strengthened my English and learned French.Many things in this world, persist in doing, do not set limits of themselves, may become. The key is whether you have the courage to keep moving.
There are many advantages to learning English:
- A young man -- no matter his age, he is still a young man as long as he does not think he is old -- living in today's Internet age, he does not often need to use English, so he may need to reflect on his living condition. If your work and life continue to improve, sooner or later, English will stand in your way
- If you have a good command of English, you can communicate with people that have a good education in most countries without any obstacles
- You can seek opportunities to make money in a wider market and diversify your income.
- The top scientific journals are all in English now.I'm sure most people in high-tech jobs feel the same way. Including primary parenting information is also, otherwise you can only accept the Chinese interpretation of rotation. This is why the Chinese search for parenting information is so unreliable.
- You can't lie about information on English. In the multivariate information competition, which country reported what was wrong was immediately corrected. Chinese has no such environment.
- When it comes to time, we hate less. You never know when the opportunity will come, but you'd better to seize it when it comes, because there aren't many. Therefore, we need to reserve more knowledge for a rainy day.

- Are you really willing to passively accept the translation imposed on you by the subtitle group to watch English movies, but cannot understand and feel by yourself? - English needs constant imitation and persistence. If you can stick to it, you need strong learning ability and logical thinking ability. You'll be touched.

To all the prized players:
I am Vivian, it is a great honor for me to share my thoughts to you.
From April 16th, I persist in getting up at 5:30 am and going to bed 9:30, pm, spending the time in learning psychology and writing without fail. But it is you that make me break the rule, at the night of your competition finals, I listened to everyone’s speech carefully until 11:00pm. I do that not only because I am one of the judges but also because your efforts, your passion about English and the stories of your mother literally got me involved in. When you felt happy, I felt happy. When you felt sad, I was sad，too. I am so proud of you. And Let us give claps to your excellent performance together.
There were two moments that I had a stream of distress pricking my heart and lost in thoughts that night. One is that When A”Bai posed the question“ Have you ever had a conflict with your mother and how did you settle” to Landy Tong, she did not control her emotion and had a choke with her voice. I knew it was a very difficult question. If I were her at that situation, I would cry. I was moved by her true feelings. The other one is that when Shane cleverly introduced the questions to Alex“ If you feel that your mother intervene on your life too much, how would you like to let her not and without hurt her feeling” and introduced the question to Benny “ If you get a promotion which can help you to support your family better, but you have to leave your family like go abroad, what would you like to do”. This time, Alex and Benny lost their fluency, spoke slowly and used abstract words. But from their not so perfect answers, I found that their true love to their mother. If we really love our mother, it is really hard to answer questions like these, we could easily fall into the dilemma of sense and sensibility, this eternal conflict. Actually, I love the word “conflict”. We are all adults, we have realized in the long relationship with our mother, they could not satisfy all our demands immediately because of the complexity of life. Not because they do not want to , but because they could not. We love her, but we also hate her. We have a nice conversation with her, but also have a quarrel with her. We live in her love, but also live in her shadow. The truth is that love is not only simple but complicated and that is why love is so charming.
At the end, I had to say, I have worked in New Oriental for about five years. Every year I meet different excellent English learners and teachers. It is also my pleasure to have a connection with you in this amazing contest. From you and my colleagues and students, I realize that on the road to English, there is no shortcut, no best learner, but there is a better you and a bigger world.

And your stories between you and your mother have been becoming the wonderful memories in our hearts, our judges are so proud of you. Thank you.
Please keep going, make English first in your mind everybody’s English language talking skill can be improved more and more, better and better in the future if you keep talking in English.
