A field guide to lies:Critical Thinking in the Information Age

We are belonging to a generation nurtured by information and in the advent of massive knowledge we have to pick out desired part from vast information seas. Unfortunately, it seems to look like that we, human, are not born to confront lots of data, which is accounting for the uncertainties of people whether the information they gathered or that presented by others  is true or not. As the book described,"The human brain did not evolve to process large amounts of numerical data presented as text; instead, our eyes look for patterns in data that are visually displayed", based on this theory the author list lots of specific but misleading or totally false examples, which the shortcomings of pattern recognization, extracted from famous resources such as New York Times, Washington Post and so on, to make the book more convincing. Sometimes just some writer want to make wrong conclusions and to make something more populated and fearful, while sometimes even the writer himself did not feel the mistake they have made because the origin to blame hide so deep that it is so hard to be aware of that.
