Today I have finished reading the original English version of Principleswritten by Ray Dario, the founder of Bridgewater. Before I have read two English version novels 1984 and Animal Farm. Although I am an English major in college, I have rarely read the complete English book before.Since I have read the book Everybody can use Englishwritten by Li Xiaolai, I try to begin reading English book. I write the thoughts aboutPrinciples in English this time. Maybe there exists some spelling and grammar mistakes, but it doesn't matter, I have walked out the first step, which is the most important thing.
Principles is a book listing 200 plus principles which Ray Dario belives. Most of principles in the book deserve learning and practising, but the most impressive principle to me is "Trust in Truth".
I must admit sometimes truth is so harsh that most of us don't want to face it ,not to mention accepting it.For example, I have many weaknesses, lacking of persistence, laziness, bad at communication etc.But I don't want to admit it most of time,I only want to believe I am a perfect man, acturally at the bottom of my heart I know I am not. Nobody can achieve perfect in the world. I'd rather lose sight of my weaknesses.
Truth--more precisely, an accurate understanding of reality-- is the essential foundation for producing good outcomes.Knowing the truth will allow you to deal with your situation better.
In some way if you can face the truth faithfully, it appears you are brave enough to face everything.
