Beginning of summer is the 7th of the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms（节气）. It means the end of spring and the start of summer. On the day of beginning of summer , people do some special things , like eating tea eggs.
In ancient China, people believed a round egg was a symbol of a happy life. They put some tea into boiled water together with eggs and created '' tea eggs''. Eating eggs on the date of the beginning of summer was a prayer for good health.
