Today is Wednesday.
Mrs. West invited the girls into her house. There were many pictures of the scenes around the world on the wall. Amelia wanted to help her to find her lost cats. Mrs. West felt thankful for them. They climbed up to the spooky and rickety attic, and they were nervous. No one wanted to be the leader but Amelia. There were lots of old trunks in the attic, and big boxes. Amelia saw the two cats were on the roof another building, but they quickly disappeared. Her friend said, "The cat is out of the bag," which means the secret has been made known.
The girls told Mrs. West where the cats were. That's the carriage building. They went into the house and found there were two old cars in the building. Mrs. West wanted to sell them but none of her relatives wanted to buy. She said they were white elephants, which means possession that is unwanted by its owner. Amelia caught the cats by alluding them with lemonade. Mrs. West was so happy that she invited them to her room and served them some lemonade. Amelia discovered that the lady had gone to many places around the world because there were a lot of pictures on the wall showing that.
