今天听了他的 《you want it darker》
这是82岁高龄的他出的最后一张专辑，一个月以后就离世了。
“But I think he made his peace with god.”在电影《阿甘正传》中，丹中尉与阿甘两人凭借捕虾赚得盆满钵满。某天，一向爱怨天尤人的丹中尉忽然向阿甘道谢，感谢他拯救了自己的生命。听罢，阿甘在心里作出了上面的那句评价。
在众多传奇音乐人之中，他是最不急躁最不找上帝麻烦的了，他用他的招牌声线吟唱道："I'm ready, my Lord." Cohen毫不掩饰、也毫不在意自己已经八十高龄的事实。假如我的生命到此为止，那么我将欣然接受。这时的他已经不再出那样意象繁多、文辞耐人寻味的作品；有的只是"Did I Ever Love You"这样简洁、诚恳，近乎日常对话般的小品。
有人说这张专辑的境界与陶渊明的名句相类似：采菊东篱下，悠然见南山。陶渊明其实没写什么，但又似乎什么都写尽了。而Cohen想要表达的所有情感，很深，却也很轻。
