C46151-- Day5 -- Texas blackouts raise climate warning

Texas was hit seriously by the extreme winter weather in mid-February, leaving millions without electricity. Apart from this, other problems include shortages of gas and fuel supplies as well as incidents of carbon monoxide poisoning. For decades, some scientists have warned that a warming planet would cause unusual weather events like this, but the state just ignored the warning and was ill-prepared.  In recent years, a series of extreme weather incidents in US has proved that what we have done is not enough to keep up with the climate curveballs, and as global warming intensifies, coping with and dealing with these events is becoming more and more difficult. A new climate calls for a new way of thinking, so we need invest fully in measures as well as plan and think more holistically and comprehensively. And now it is high time that we made some changes.
