1. move up a notch on the totem pole
notch这里指的是“等级”，如be a notch on the others（比他人高一等）
the totem pole 指的是图腾柱
low on the totem pole可以表示地位低下
所以move up a notch on the totem pole 就可以表示地位有所提升了~
2. drive sb. nuts 把某人逼疯，使某人抓狂
3. drive sb. bananas 使某人发疯，发怒
nuts和bananas在俚语当中都有“发疯的，发怒的”意思，相当于crazy
如：go bananas/nuts/crazy都可以表示“发疯，发怒”
4. on the top of that 除此之外
5. be all set 准备好……，相当于“be ready for"
eg: Are you all set? 你们都准备好了吗？
6. off the hook在口语当中表示脱离困境
eg: He let us off the hook. 他拯救我们脱离困境。
7. creep sb. out 使人毛骨悚然
eg: Oh, you are creeping me out. 你吓死我了。
8. play dirty 使坏，使诈，作弊
9. under his thumb 受某人的压制或支配，也可说under the thumb of sb.
10. It really started getting on my nerves.
get on sb's nerves 使某人焦虑不安，刺激某人的神经
11. sold me out 出卖，背叛
12. maybe I have a shot 有机会，相当于I have a chance
