When I was young, Mother’s Day was just as special as Christmas.

It was exciting being in the house at this time. This was thanks to my father. He made sure that his kids showed much love for their mother. He asked us to clean the house and make it look beautiful. He told us to do things for our mother, even very small things like cooking breakfast. 

Mom didn’t have to do anything all day. She could have her breakfast in bed in the morning and just relax. In the evening, we went to a restaurant for a nice Mother’s Day dinner.

From this, I learned a thing or two about how to love. My father always put my mother first. He loved her and always told her so. 

You see, it goes both ways. The love you have for your mother comes back to you in a special way one day if you have children. Even if you are not living together, you will feel close to each other. You will have much love in your heart.
