格言分享

在整理书架时，我看到了一本被我冷落已久的一本书——《英语格言谚语小词典》。这书是十几年前，在路边的一个旧书摊上，我花了两块钱买的（书上的定价是７.５元），当时的我感觉如获至宝！

这本书一共收录了800条英文格言，我全部背过了！

该书由Ronald Ridout & Clifford Witting编著，由王寿来翻译。译者王寿来，对我来说很陌生，加之，这本书的中文部分是繁体字，所以，我特意查了一下。果然，他是台湾人，出版、翻译过多本著作，曾任那边文化部文化资产局局长。

现复习／分享几条格言。

1，Give a dog a bad name and hang him.

加罪于狗，以一用绞刑。欲加之罪，何患无辞。

2，Give a thief enough rope and he will hang himself.

多行不义必自毙。

3，Give credit where credit is due.

归功于有功者。

4，The devil is not so black as he is painted.

魔鬼并不像所描绘的那样黑。

5，Gives the devil his due .

公平对待恶人。
