He lies under the weight
of incubus and night-mare:
he lies in sight
of all that he would fain perform,
just as a man
forcibly confined to his bed
by the mortal languor
of a relaxing disease,
who is compelled to witness injury
or outrage offered
to some object
of his tenderest love:
--- he curses the spells
which chain him down from motion: ---
he would lay down his life
if he might
but get up and walk;
but he is powerless
as an infant,
and cannot even attempt to rise.
那麼
他是對以往兩句話 ( 004, 005 )
進一步地推進。
他這樣說，
於是這樣一個可憐的人，

incubus : 惡夢，夢魘
night-mare : 惡夢，夢魘
於是你就發現，
畫面出現有這樣一個人 :
這個人目光特別茫然，滿臉焦慮，
然後，坐在沙發上
呆呆看著窗外，
他知道他有夢想，他有雄心，
他想在有限的年華和時光內，
告訴這個世界
I am truly something.
但他一直在糾結著，拖延著，
矛盾著，痛苦著，掙扎著
......
而那個桌子上時鐘在一分一秒地流逝過去。
所以你發現，
這樣的人，事實上是活在夢魘當中。

於是生活中，他再也找不出快樂，

然後，
in sight of : 眼睜睜看著
他躺在那兒
眼睜睜看著 ______ 什麼呢?
all that he would fain perform,
fain : 快樂地
眼睜睜地看著身邊那些
本可以使他快樂的，他可以去做事情
但你發現
所有這些事兒
他再也找不回當初的快樂
再往下，
just as a man
forcibly confined to his bed
就好像一個人 ______
這個人
沒有任何辦法
欲罷不能
只能讓自己躺在床上

由於______什麼原因呢?

字面意思 : 使人臥病在床的病
( 就是你只能躺著，這樣的病。)
那麼重病這些人，
一定會陷入一種狀態 ______

: 人的一種憔悴，倦怠
就好像一個人得了重病，
然後，
倦怠的，憔悴的躺在床上。

他只能眼睜睜地躺在床上

看著什麼呢?
看著

身邊那些曾經他最愛的事物，
曾經那些最美好的東西，
當這些東西，
然後，被摧殘著，被傷害著，
他不能做任何事情，

: 他最愛的東西
injury : 摧殘，傷害，打擊
outrage : 打擊
這邊是指什麼?
很大意義上是指 :
自己曾經有過熱血，有過激情，
想要去從事的事業，
包括自己像年輕的孩子一樣，
在努力追逐的夢想，
於是一天天看著時光漫散，夢想荒蕪。

每天他在 詛咒著
這個讓自己無所作為的 魔咒
curses the spells : 詛咒著魔咒
這個 魔咒 讓他一事無成
慵懶地待在家裡，或者躺在床上，
沒有任何積極的作為。
你發現
把一個人困在床上，
或者躺在床上沒有作為
他用了好幾個字 :
confined to
chain
chain : 枷鎖，綑綁
chain him down from motion
再往下，
he would lay down his life
if he might
but get up and walk;
他呢，
真想在這兒永遠地躺下去，
if he might

如果他還能夠站起來，能夠行走的話，

但問題在於，
遭受這樣的一種抑鬱的打擊，
發現自己已經沒有任何行動的能力
軟弱地像個嬰兒一樣，

去挺立著站起，追尋自己的未來。
