(informal)to organize your life or work in a better way, especially by having clear goals and a plan for achieving them.集中精力

2. get around (unit 10 It amazes me how news gets around in this place. )

a. 到处旅行;游历;If you get around, you visit a lot of different places as part of your way of life.

c. 克服,解决问题或困难;To get around a problem or difficulty means to overcome it. [V P n]

3. get by

4. get sb./sth. down

get sb. down

使沮丧;使忧郁;If something gets you down, it makes you unhappy. [V n P]

b.  费力地吞下;勉强咽下;If you get food or medicine down, you swallow it, especially with difficulty. [V n P] [Also V P n (not pron)] [Informal]

5. get off

7. get down to business(Now we're all here,Let's get down to bussiness. )

to start dealing with the matter that needs to be dealt with, or doing the work that needs to be done 着手处理正事;开始认真工作

8. get off my back(I wish my parents would get off my back. )

used for telling someone to stop criticizing you or telling you what to do别再找我麻烦了

9. get/go back to basics(The football coach decided it was time for his team to get back to basics. )

to start paying more attention to the most important aspects of something.重回正轨

10. get off the around

if you get a project off the ground, you start it and make it successful. You can also say that a project gets off the ground(成功地)开始,使...(成功)取得进展~

No volunteers came forward to enable the youth club to get off the ground.

11. get into(But I've also been getting into golf rencently. )

a. 从事;致力于;If you get into a particular kind of work or activity, you manage to become involved in it. [V P n]

He was eager to get into politics.

他渴望进入政界。

b. 获准[入学]; 被录取;If you get into a school, college, or university, you are accepted there as a student. [V P n]

I was working hard to get into Cambridge.

c. 使行为异常;使着魔;If you ask what has got into someone, you mean that they are behaving very differently from the way they usually behave. [V P n] [Informal]
