My company has an apartment construction in Bangkok, Thailand. I went to the site on a business trip at August.
Today I want to tell a story to remand everybody，pay attention to keep safety in the site. It’s a real story when I was in the Bangkok. There are four lifts in the site, which are three passenger lifts, and one fire lift. The passenger lifts merely for sales with customers, and they have the elevator card. Our engineers usually use the fire lift, because all the workers also use fire lift, so it’s very slowly.
One day I wanted to go upstairs to the roof to measure the height of the parapet. Then my colleague told me kindly,” Xiaoguo, the passenger lift had been debugged, you can use it without elevator card.” So I went into the passenger lift by myself, and I pressed the button to 30th floor, then the door was closed. A few seconds later, I found the lift didn’t move. It was weird, I just pressed the button again, there was still no move. Then I pressed the key to open the door, but the door no reaction. At that moment, I told myself, oh! I had been locked in the lift.
So I pressed the alarm immediately. And I could heard the bell ringing outsides, but no one answered. I picked up my phone wanted to call my colleague , unfortunately there was no mobile phone signal. I felt so helpless. But fortunately, in that situation I could keep calm and thinking. I looked my watch ,it was 3 clock , and there is a meeting at 6 clock everyday .So in the worst case, I would stay in the lift for 3 hours until other people found that I was trapped to rescue me. It’s sound not too bad, I could handle this kind of situation.
Then I looked around the lift ,I thought the air maybe enough, but it was so boring for me to stay here 3hour without internet. I’d better find some way out by myself. So I pressed the alarm again and again, the bell still ringing without any answer. Suddenly, an idea knock on my mind, Once someone opens the door with his hand, I should try it. Even though I never think I could open the door with my hands, just have a try .
Therefore I put my finger on the crack of the door, and slide the door on two sides. When the door moved, I was so exciting. The miracle happened, I saved myself with my hands by myself.
Ok the story is end. I just want to remand my dear colleague to keep safety when you are in the site.
