The development about Chinese tourism in ten years
According to the Opinion of the State Council on Speeding up the Development of Tourism, the tourism is astrategic industry with low resource consumption, large driving coefficient,many employment opportunities and good comprehensive benefits. And at present,China is in the period of rapid development of industrialization andurbanization. The growing popularity and diversified consumption demandsprovide new opportunities for the development of tourism.
Hence, the potential to tourism is very tremendous and it’s meaningful to analysis Chinese tourism situation and forecast its prospect by the data in ten years from 2006 to 2015. And this article wants to analyze the data in both domestic tourists’ and inbound tourists’ change during ten years with some visualized charts. So, the data about this essay are from the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China and the website is: http://data.stats.gov.cn/easyquery.htm?cn=C01, through which you can have a check.�
The tourists from urban residents are the main part in domestic tourists.
From the Figure1, it can easily find that the number of domestic tourists from urban residents rises up continuously from 2006 to 2015 and which is similar to the growth about domestic tourists obviously. However, the increase to tourists from rural areas is unstable and before 2010, rural tourists’ number was bigger than urban tourists and is the main part in domestic tourists, which is showed by three different colors small rectangles in above stacked bar graph. But after 2010, the situation has changed an numbers about urban people were bigger and bigger than rural ones. So, in ten years, urban tourists have become the main forces in domestic tourists with the sharp increment speed.
From the Figure2, both the tendency about total cost of domestic tourism and the tendency to the cost for urban residents are similar, which grows fleetly from time to time and the height of green rectangles is higher than pick ones and the increase about rural tourists’ cost is in a small range.Observing green rectangles and pick ones between Figure1 and Figure2 before 2010, it can conclude that, though rural tourists are more than urban tourists,the total cost from urban ones is higher than rural tourists. So, time by time urban tourists are always main consumer in domestic tourism for they have higher income and consumption consciousness. In other words, they’re beneficiaries in the Reform and Opening-up, industrialization and urbanization.
Hence,whether the number or the total cost in domestic tourism, the urban residents are the main forces to develop the tourism, which is the main motivation.
Asian tourists are the main forces.
Above the figure3, although the increases about inbound tourists and inbound touristsin Asia are in twists and turns, the tendency to both of them grows up time by time. However, the trend of European inbound tourists or tourists from North America forests to fall. And compare to the gaps between green-line to other lines, it can find that the red one (inbound tourists in Asia) is near the green-line. Therefore, Chinese tourism has more attractive to Asia tourists,among which Korean tourists are the main parts that have the proportion of more than 40% in 2015, then is the Japan, which can observer form the Figure4 and Figure5. So, it seems that Korean people and Japanese have more contacts to China than other Asian countries. And it also shows that, China can take some new measures to appeal to other developed countries having a travel to China,which has lots of potential.
Different reasons to Inbound Tourists
Following the above figure, it can see that there are different reasons for inbound tourists to China and with trend lines, the sightseeing and leisure foreigners will become less and less, which has a meaning that the sightseeing may be less attractive to them. But, the tendency about others reasons will grow rapidly from 2006 to 2015, which displays that there will be various reasons for foreigners travel to China and the number of visiting relatives and friends of foreigners will rise up stably, which means that Chinese will have stable relationship with foreigners and the connection will be more closely.
However, it also concerns to that the trend of foreigners about meeting or business is reducing, which is related to the development of economy. Maybe more foreigners will choose to live in China for a long time.
The potential and future
All above the analysis about visualization to some figures, it can see that the tourism in China has lots of potential for it can take more measures to attract other foreigners besides the Asians with the One Belt and One Road Initiative among which the projects about high-speed railway have some excellent achievements. And it means that the inbound tourists will be more and more as well as the tourism in China will be better in the future.
