The Etiquette of Talking Back

Rene Descartes once said "Reading a good book is a conversation with a noble." The roots of the obligation, however, lie a little deeper in the nature of the relation between books and readers.

The author said "The reader and the author are not peers. The author is subject to trill only by a jury of his peers." So I think, that's why people always say " There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes."

Now in a conversation which a reader has with a book in the privacy of his own study, there is nothing to prevent the reader from winning the argument.Thoughts about books are experiences about lifes, I think.

At the end of this chapter, the author summarized three general maxims, which are very useful for readers. Complete the task of undershtanding before rushing in. Not to be disputatious or contentious. View disagreement about matters of knowledge as remediable.

How Important It Is!In that lies all hope for resolution.
