Have you ever been to Dingxiang? Do you want to have any idea of what the county is like?
Dingxiang lies on the northeast of Xinzhou, Shanxi. On the northwest of it isYuanpin,and on the northeast of it is famous Mount Wutai.
Beautiful Muma River runs slowly through the whole county. A history of about 2,500 years has left Dingxiang with many scenic spots and rshistorical sites, among which is Hebian Folk Custom Museum where used to be Yan Xishan’s official residence.
Xi Hetou Tunnel Warfare where eternal slept a famous revolutionary martyr---Guo Jicheng.
At the present age of Dingxiang, there are many famous persons, such as Bo Yibo who used to be one of our famous leaders.
Now Dingxiang is a modern county with a population of about 220,000. Many streets have been widened. And high buildings are here and there. Along the streets are drooping willows and beautiful flowers.
The People’s Park stands in the middle of the town of Dingxiang. Here the blue sky is reflected in the mirror lake, birds sing and long corridors are covered with Chinese Wistarias. What a nice picture！Every morning and every evening, people come here to dance, perform Chinese Kongfu, or have a rest. What a happy life they live!
In Shanxi, when we talk about Dingxiang, we must think of ”flange”. In Chinese we say “Fa Lan”, Dingxiang is famous for her flange industry.
Every year, quite a large number of flanges are exports to Japan, Italy, France and so on. It occupies 60 percent of the whole flanges’ exportation of China. Many people have got richer and richer. But every coin has its own both sides, on the other hand, it also produces a big problem, that is pollution. People are suffering from the heavy smoke of flange factories. But to my joy, people have already realized this. We have been trying to find a proper way of sustainable development.
Dingxiang is also famous for its special delicious food, such as Huamo
