Q1:   ln your observation, what are the characteristics of Chinese parenting.

A1:To be honest , maybe I was influenced by lots of reading materials , a Chinese mother is different from a western one. As a child , I also hope I can have the life playing all day outside and gain my own inspiration . They are more benevolent and loose . Conversely , the parents in China is very strict. Every Chinese parents have great ambitions for their children , this lead to the exact demands without doubt. According to the passage, Chinese parents consider “ stressing academic success “ and “ academic achievement reflects successful parenting.”

So there are some typical examples.

1.HIGH DEMAND.

Chinese parents believe that it’s important for children concentrate on their schoolwork.  So schoolwork always comes first. In addition, if you get an A-minus in exams , that means you get a bad grade.

2.STRICT.

For example, western parents consider them-selves strict to make their children practice their instruments thirty minutes every day an hour at most. For a Chinese mother, the first hour is the easy part. It’s hours two and three that get tough.

3.CARE.

Chinese parents care a lot about their children. Children are the most precious thing for them. So they may prevent their children from doing many things. For example, they’re not allowed to attend a sleepover. And it’s almost impossible for them to get outside at night.

What’s more , they like stressing the importance of success but not doing it by them-selves. For the self-respect they like comparing their children with others’. They also care for the authority, What they say must be right and must do. In general ,they live for their children.

Q2  : What do you like and don’t like about Chinese parents? Why?

A2: As a student now in GY, I have nothing to complain. Instead I should say thankyou to my mum. Now I think Chinese parenting is beneficial to us. I like Chinese parents . Although they’re more strict in a certain degree, without my parents’ help, I may fail to manage my own time and all things will be a mess. Today my success comes from my parents.
