I shall store grief up in the attic
along with the doll with its eyes missing, the broken umbrella,
the battered exercise-book and the old muslin.
Then I shall come downstairs wearing the mantle of joy
spun by madcap spiders.
Deep inside the pockets there will be crumbs of love.
