give word more straightforward definition, and for some words, to add some additional clarification to help audience how these words should be understood
eg:
"we would ban smoking in the university campus"
don't need to define smoke.
but define how to ban, what is the boundary of university campus.
to avoid confusion
2)set up debate:
what need to know in order for this debate happen.
give them the context, why this debate is important? what is the background of this issue? tell audience how this debate should be evaluate
- present your position and team's case
how we are going to approach the debate
what we are going to prove?
what is my team going to do?
what I'm going to talk about? how my partner going to talk about?
when we need to propose policy and plan:
what we are going to do? what we are going to do next?
explain in details how to execute the plans
- present argument:
first reason, the second reason
and summarize and close speech
