Today, I started at my internship at International Office in my university with two-month duration. Some of my classmates think I am crazy to take this internship as I also want to take the postgraduate qualifying examination at the end of December. I don't know whether I did right choice but I will try my best to learn as much as I can in my internship, so that I won't be regretful after I finish it.
So, what did I mainly do today?
The boss gave me several piles of papers and letters and asked me to pick out papers with only one side used, and then put them aside to reuse them. If several papers were stapled together, I had to unclench the staples. It was quite troublesome and I even hurted my finger by accident.QAQ
As for those papers that could not be recycled, I had to put them into the paper shredder before I throw them into the garbage because there was private information on them. The boss also required us to cut out private informations on the envelopes and shred the parts I cut out.
This task seemed simple but I still made a mistake. I put all chippings and other waste papers in two boxes. My boss (another one) examed them when I asked where I should dump them. Soon, she asked me why I did not shred some papers with words on it. I replied I thought it was not personal information and it was unnecessary to shred them. Then, my boss asked me "But, what is it if it is not personal?". Having no ideas to this question, I gave my boss a awkward smile.
"All words on papers are related to our office and are personal and private. We should do our utmost to prevent it from being leaked." My boss told me.
This is the first lesson I learnt.
