call off的用法
Marker sentence:
Mating is called off
交配被叫停。
call off在例句中表示使...停止，叫停。
使用的时候可以说call off sth 或call sth off。这个短语和cancel的意思相近，但更加口语化，更适用于一些临时的决定。call off主要有三种含义：
1.表示取消，叫停
The director emailed her and called the meeting off .
那位主管发邮件给她取消了会议。
After finding out that his fiancee had been cheating on him, he decided to call off the wedding.

2.表示把...叫开、喊走
