java jvm是如何创建的

根据上文运行main方法过程得知,java.c方法初始化JVM的调用是InitializeJVM(),而InitializeJVM()方法里调InvocationFunctions->CreateJavaVM创建JVM。

InvocationFunctions又是哪里来的呢,再回过去看一下java.c运行main方法的JLI_Launch(),其中一步就是LoadJavaVM, 这个是加载libjvm.so(windows是libjvm.dll)环境,绑定JNI调用,通过这个jdk调到了hotspot。

InvocationFunctions通过JNI方式绑定CreateJavaVM到libjvm的JNI_CreateJavaVM(PS:dlsym是指向动态链接库的指针),所以InitializeJVM通过调用ifn->CreateJavaVM,也就调到了hotspot中jni.cpp的JNI_CreateJavaVM方法。

JNI_CreateJavaVM中真正创建JVM,分配内存,初始化核心类的是Threads::create_vm()方法,代码在hotspot的/src/share/vm/runtime/thread.cpp。

大概70多个步骤,其中几个重要步骤方法调用简单说明下:
os::init() 设置系统内存页大小(sysconf (_SC_PAGESIZE) =4K),JVM内存页大小(8K),创建操作系统线程。
vm_init_globals
init_globals 其中universe_init很重要,初始化了堆的GC策略,堆的模型,和对象创建、GC有关,后面再看。stubRoutines_init1也是很重要,StubRoutines中实现跟CPU架构关联,后面的java方法调用是通过StubRoutines::call_stub(),也就和CPU相关了。
Arguments::parse()解析了虚拟机启动参数,比较重要的是与JMM内存模型有关的参数,比如-Xmx -Xms -Xmn -Xss。(-Xss这里有个校验最小是1000K,其实后面创建线程时要求最小104K)
Arguments::apply_ergo()开始计算堆、元空间Metaspace大小,设置GC模式。(PS:堆栈大小不会在创建JVM时分配好,创建线程才在栈上分配内存,创建了对象则在堆上面分配内存,这个和操作系统的进行虚拟内存与实际物理内存映射有关。这里的计算JVM堆大小只是确定一个地址范围,用于判断是否足够在上面分配内存,便于管理)
os::init_2() 调用了hotspot /src/os/linux/vm/os_linux.cpp的jint os::init_2(void)方法, 里面设置了栈线程大小,默认1M(32位是512k),其中有StackYellowPages、StackRedPages、StackShadowPages,这个是java线程内存设计相关叫栈守卫页,多嘴一句栈线程里面加这几个是为了检测栈溢出后JVM有不同的行为,以及最小线程栈大小104K,都是计算出来的。还有就是是否要用NUMA架构和大页内存,相关知识可以自行学习。
new JavaThread()初始化后创建main线程,并分配内存,并关联上之前创建的操作系统线程,启动操作系统线程,初始化基础java类。
BiasedLocking::init()偏向锁初始化,是java对象头markwork中偏向锁机制,synchronize语义就有偏向锁实现。

总结:运行java程序main方法,先初始化JVM,通过libjvm.so/libjvm.dll调用hotspot创建JVM进程。调用过程如下:
