《The very hungry caterpillar》的中文译名是《好饿的毛毛虫》，讲的是一只毛毛虫从出生到化茧成蝶的过程。故事虽简单，但其中可以教孩子的东西可不少，例如水果、数字、颜色、星期，对于大一点的宝宝来说，还可以从中学到毛毛虫到蝴蝶的生长演变经过。每次讲这个故事，小鹿都喜欢手舞足蹈，无比兴（feng）奋（dian）地给娃演绎，比如说做出很夸张的吃东西的动作，给毛毛虫吃东西配音，拍拍肚皮，再模仿毛毛虫慢慢地往前爬，最后还不忘表演蝴蝶飞走的情景。而似乎我做的越夸张，娃就看的越开心，越喜欢读这本书呢。好了，言归正传，让我们一起看看这本书的正文吧。
在书的第一页，一轮明月的照耀下，我们的主人公小毛毛虫出生了。
In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf.
月光下，一颗小虫卵躺在树叶上。
