题目:One way to solve theproblem of parking in inner city areas is to have large car parks around thecity centre and a public transport network to take people around the innercity. Inner city parking would then be limited and very expensive. What are theadvantages and disadvantages of this approach to urban planning?
With the development of technology and the passage of time, cars are becoming more and more common on the road. More cars mean more parking, but the size of the land is constant. Downtown, parking is even more of a problem.
To solve the parking problem, some people say we can build a large car parks around the thecity centre and a public transport network to take people around the innercity. I think it's a bit uneconomic to build a large car park in the city centre. In my opinion, the city center is more suitable for the scattered construction of small parking lots. Because downtown traffic is already high, building another large parking lot could cause cars to rush to the same place, exacerbating possible downtown traffic congestion. However, if the small parking lots are built separately, the effect of traffic diversion can be achieved to some extent. And the downtown area is usually better, I think downtown is more suitable for the limited land to make full use of economic or cultural construction.
As for the establishment of a public transport network, I think it is very good, because this kind of action can encourage people to use public transport instead of private cars. And it's also good for the environment, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and making the air better, as well as reducing traffic in the city center.
