Thousands of people attended the grand worshipping ceremony on March,3rd on the Chinese lunar calendar to mark the ancestor huangdi,or the yellow emperor.March,3rd is believed to be the birthday of the legendary emperor ,who united all the tribes and built huaxia empire.The ceremony was staged in zhengzhou as well as several overseas cities.Since huangdi is regarded as the common ancestor of all Chinese,the memorial ritual has been spread since Tang Dynasty to pay homage to the ancestor and return to roots.
