How does Chinese TV programs make money?

In China , when it comes to the question , how does Chinese TV programs make money , the answer that almost everyone has known is advertising , like implantable advertising and naming right . Besides , there is another way for TV programs to make a living , which is to sale its copyright . But it requires creativity that Chinese are extremey lack of . By the way , the menthod that TV programs cooperates with telecom operators to earn , by taking advantage of SMS ,has been abandoned . And now in China , advertising has been feeding TV programs . But in the intense environment of Chinese TV programs and according to the situation that it relies too much on advertising and copyright , the circumstance of Chinese TV programs really sucks .As a consequence that Chinese TV programs barely has no incomes except thoese populer enough being able to attract advertiser .

So which direction should the TV programs go to make money ? Goddess of New Clothes , brodcasting on Shanghai Oriental TV , gives us an example . Wechat public account ZhiZhuWang(知智网) , belonging to Chinese Network Video Research Center in Communication University of China , comments that the original pattern , hand in hand between TV programs and E-commerce , is a breakthrough. And what they agree with netizens is the deep exploration for the direction which TV programs should follow to step forward into E-commerce on Internet , based on niubi plan and win-win strategy among star , company , Tmall and TV programs .

Generally speaking , E-commerce is doing bussiness in an electronic way . So in fact , the new pattern, found by producer with Internet thinking pattern, is a new strategy making profit on Internet , which is totally different from the traditional marketing pattern in TV stations .But does it mean making profit on Internet is completely a newly-born thing in TV field ? Actually , Big Brother , broadcasting on CBS , already made an attempt many years ago . But what is not good enough in BB is that it just moved the traditional TV programs marketing onto Internet instead of exploring a new pattern as Goddess of New Clothes does now .BB asked the audiences who wanted to watch the extra video besides the live show for money . Goddess of New Clothes enters into Internet , not only for broadcasting , but saling the new clothes producted from the programs on Tmall ,together with companies . This is not a simple transplantation , but it opens a new output market in E-commerce for TV programs .

In short , Goddess of New Clothes brings us a new pattern in TV programs marking , which is able to make money directly. In my point of view , I hope that Chinese TV workers including me , can explore more effective ways to solve the problems TV programers face now ,and help TV workers earn more .
