- You are a lemon
带着lemon但和“酸”完全没有关系哦~
lemon不止是柠檬，"a lemon"这个短语更多的时候是指无用的、不值钱的东西，也延伸为无用的人。
所以You are a lemon千万不要随便对别人说~
它代表的是 a stupid person
“你真没用(你是个无用之人)”
举个栗子:
He took a little test drive and agreed the car was a lemon.
他试驾了一下，也认为这车不行。
I just stood there like a lemon.
我就傻乎乎地站在那儿。
在英语中，除了可怜的柠檬
还有其他水果也是被“误解”的小可怜
- banana
He is the big banana.
千万不要翻译成“他是大香蕉”哦！
the big banana 是一个固定俚语
它的意思是“大人物”“大亨”的意思
它还有两个小伙伴
～top banana
跟the big banana意思很相近,也是一个俚语 主要人物，大人物。
～to go bananas
表示某人发疯、精神错乱、情绪不稳定！
举个栗子：
Before he became the big banana John was a much friendlier and most modest person.
约翰成为大人物之前可比现在要友善得多，当时他是个极谦逊的人。
- apple
被误解的apple（苹果）有：
～bad apple 坏蛋
There's always a bad apple in every bunch.
到哪儿都有害群之马。
～Big Apple 纽约
The main attractions of the Big Apple are well documented.
对纽约的主要旅游胜地有详细的记载。
～The apple of one’s eye
某个特别珍爱的人/物
John little girl is the apple of his eye, he loves her so much.
小女儿是John的掌上明珠，他非常爱她。
- To be a peach
peach
英 [pi:tʃ] 美 [pitʃ]
n.桃子;桃红色;极好的人（或物）
形容一个人是一个桃儿，
其实就是想表达ta很好很nice！
举个栗子：
Thank you for helping me paint, James, you’re a peach!
谢谢你帮我画画，你真是个好人！
- To have sour grapes
grape
英 [greɪp] 美 [ɡrep]
n.葡萄;深紫色，葡萄紫
～To have sour grapes
表示吃不着葡萄就说葡萄酸。
举个栗子：
Of course, such a conceited person is going to have some sour grapes after losing.
想也知道，那么自负的人在输了比赛之后总是会有些酸葡萄心态。
