题目:One way to solve theproblem of parking in inner city areas is to have large car parks around thecity centre and a public transport network to take people around the innercity. Inner city parking would then be limited and very expensive. What are theadvantages and disadvantages of this approach to urban planning?
Nowadays, in order to solve the issues about parking problems in the city center, government design to build lager car parks outside the inner city and increase public transportation in the downtown. I think it brings much more merits than problems.
First and foremost, lager car parks can accommodate many vehicles and due to the fact that it is built around the inner city, it provides easy access for people to reach every corner in cities. Moreover, people park their cars on the periphery to walk or ride into the city, which can not only exercise but also protect the environment and reduce vehicle exhaust emissions. The addition of a public transportation grid can not only make the city center more convenient, but it also reduces the number of people who have to drive due to inconvenient traffic or the distance.
Despite the fact that inner city would then be lacked of parking and high cost. For instance, if large car parks are built, it would add pressure on already overloaded parking lot and make people more dissatisfied about the limited space of public area. What is more, it is always expensive for people, especially the poor, to afford high cost of travelling around in inner cities and their first preference may be ride bicycles or other more economical ways.(220 words)
