Reading part

Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ was everywhere on Earth Day, making the rounds during the morning TV news shows, and then electrifying the crowd at the Washington D.C. March for Science.

“We are marching today to remind people everywhere, our lawmakers especially, of the significance of science for our health and our prosperity,” he told the excited crowd as it chanted his name. He then launched into list of some of the significant accomplishments of science.

He also referred to the U.S. Constitution and its support of respecting and supporting science.

“The Framers of the Constitution of the United States … included in Article I Section 8 which refers to promoting the progress of science and useful arts. Its intent is to motivate innovators and drive the economy by means of just laws. They knew that without the progress of science and useful arts of engineering our economy would falter. Without scientifically literate citizens, the United States — and any country in fact — cannot compete in the world stage.”

“Show the world that science is for all. Our lawmakers must know and accept that science serves every one of us,” he said before shouting, “Save the world!”

Earlier in the day, Nye completely shut down one of President Trump’s climate denying advisers. You can watch the complete clip of that epic smack-down here.
