A Visit to a Village Home
In the last summer vacation, I visited one of my friend’s village homes. I went there by bus. After getting down from the bus, I had to walk through the village ashoka path for about half an hour. My friend and his family members received me cordially. They were very pleased to have me with them.
Every afternoon, I walked around the village with my friends. Green fields and trees, rivers and canals enchanted me very much. I lost myself in the midst of nature. They have a big pond abounding with fishes. Sometimes I used to catch fish in the pond. I also used to swim in the river every day. They used to entertain me with fresh vegetables, fruits, fish and meat. I was amused to see the simple and normal lifestyle of the villagers.
I stayed there for more than one week. Really, it was a new experience in my life. The air was clean, the sky was clear, and the people were warm. At night, we sat under the stars and talked about our dreams. When I left, I promised myself that I would come back again. It was not just a trip; it was a memory I will keep for a long time.
The Beauty of Simple Moments
We often think that happiness comes from big things — a high salary, a fancy car, or a perfect job. But if you look closely, you will find that the best parts of life are actually very simple.
It is the warmth of sunlight through a window on a lazy morning. It is the taste of a home-cooked meal shared with people you love. It is the sound of rain tapping gently on the roof when you are safe and warm inside.
We run after grand dreams and endless possessions, yet we forget to enjoy the small, unplanned moments. A short walk with an old friend, a sincere “thank you” from a stranger, or a good book on a quiet night — these things cost almost nothing, but they make life rich.
Simplify your life, and you will see that less truly can be more. You don’t need everything to be happy. Sometimes, you just need one quiet moment, a calm mind, and a grateful heart.
