I had a wonderful night enjoying Yanni’s presence and music live from Marin! I know I’m taking a break from my little daily doodle and writing project, but I have to do one for Yanni.
Growing up in China, I’ve heard pieces of his music here and there — he’s very popular there. The funny thing was, I never knew who was the musician behind them. It wasn’t until I came to the US and a friend invited me to his live concert in Oakland, did I realize this was the man behind so many melodies in my mind.
I absolutely love his music. It makes me peaceful. Even more, I love the emotions and passion he has put in them. When the music starts, you know it is a peace written with a great heart with deep compassion, trully.
Yanni said, even though he might be moody and emotional sometimes, he doesn’t put them into his music. He always keeps what’s expressed positive, because he doesn’t like putting problems into his music, only solutions. I admire that attitude.
Music really is magic. It connects you and me even if we don’t speak the same language.
