  • Q:Why is it hard to understand what people are talking in TV Series?
    A:People often mumble what they say in TV Series. Mumble(mumbling/mumblingly) means to speak words indistinctly. Another reason is people use some idioms or slang(One idiom-needle in a haystack)

  • Q: Questions for 多少集多少分钟一集?
    A: How long are the episodes? How many episodes are in each season.

  • Q: Chinglish: using check
    A: When you just have a look at something, you can see I'll look it up instead of checking for it. Checking always means confirming something. A example: I think tickets will be sold online, but you'd better check.

  • Q: Ancient times
    A: In Chinese, you can use '古代' for many periods in the history, but you need to be cautious in English: Ancient times means before 400 or 600, some times like medieval times means 400s to 1400s

  • Q: Sitcom
    A: Short for situational Comedy

  • Q: Start to do something
    A: You can say: Starting ..., I am/was/will be working on something.

  • Q: Description of proficiency in some skills.
    A: knowledgeable of/skilled in/proficient in
