Last year, I had the (1) to study at a British (2) as an (3). I stayed with a (4) and went to school with their son, Daniel. We were both in year ten and we (5). He is learning Chinese and will (6)me this year in China!
The British school day (7) at 9 a.m. and (8) at 4 p.m. Students (9)have to (10) nine (11) at secondary school. Every student in the UK must study English, (12) and the (13) subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students can also (14) to study other subjects, such as History, Art and Business.
The classes (15) those in China. Each teacher has their (16) classroom and the students (17) for every lesson. In most of my classes, there were only about 20 students. (18), however, it was still (19) for me to (20)everyone’s name!
I (21) most of the classes, but some of them were (22). (23) classes were fun. I made a clock to take home. The teacher helped me (24). I like it so much that I still use it as my (25)! I found Maths quite easy and (26) because the (27) was less (28)in the UK than in China. However, learning in English was (29) for me. There were a lot of (30) English words, (31)in Geography and Biology. Class (32) is very (33) in the UK, but I could not make much of a (34) because sometimes I wasn’t able to (35)myself (36) in English. (37) there was not as much homework as I (38), it was still challenging. (39), my teachers and classmates were always (40) and gave me (41). My language (42) over time.
During the hour-long lunchtime, I ate in the school (43). There were lots of (44) including bread and butter, chicken pie and puddings, but I still (45) my mum’s cooking! After lunch, I often played on the school’s (46) with Daniel and his friends. Sometimes we just (47) under a tree or sat on the grass.
After school, there were many(48)to (49). The one that (50) me most was the Rugby Club. We played once a week, and it was really (51). Also, I enjoyed(52) in the Theatre Club. I still have (53) of myself acting in William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Joining clubs was a great way to meet British students and (54) them.
I am (55) to have the (56) to (57) this different way of life. I (58) some great people and (59) about school life in the UK. Daniel and his family were (60), and his friends were very nice as well. I (61) for Daniel to visit China!
