How do you measure success?

你如何衡量成功？

To laugh often and much;

能经常开心地笑

To win the respect of intelligent people

能赢得智者的尊敬

And affection if children.

和孩子们的喜爱

To earn appreciation of honest critics

能得到诚实的批评家的欣赏

And endure the betrayal of false friends;

能忍受虚伪朋友的背叛

To appreciate beauty;

能欣赏美

To find the best in others;

能在他人身上发现他们最好的一面

To leave the world a bit better;

离开时能让这个世界变得更好一点

Whether by a healthy child, a garden patch,

不论是通过一个健康的孩子

还是修建了一条花园小路

A redeemed social condition, or a job well done;

抑或是改善了社会条件

还是很好地完成了一项工作

To know even one other life has breathed easier

Because you have lived—

甚至是知道因为你曾经活过

另一个生命能更自由的呼吸

This is to have succeeded
