美国几大电视台都有自己独家深宵脱口秀访谈节目，如Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel , Conan O 'Brian, 但Jon Stewart 和Stephan Colbert 另辟蹊径，将电视喜剧，政治讽刺与新闻点评熔于一炉， 深得美国知识分子和高端政商人士的青睐。
