Today is Sunday.

It was almost at twelve o'clock. Gertie had spent the morning helping Mama do some household chores, feeling a little bit of boring without her sisters' companion. She was not old enough to go to school. Mama had made dinner for the family. Henny came back first. She rushed towards the dinner table and wanted to grab the foods, but she was stopped by Mama. Mama told her she had to wash her hands first. Henny tried to tell Mama her hands were as clean as just be washed, but Mama said it was the rule. And Sarah also wanted to disobey Mama's rule of drinking soup before eating other foods. She didn't drink a little or even a sip and Mama genderly told Sarah that's the rule. Sarah didn't eat anything and went to school, tears on her face. When she came back from school, the warmed soup was on the table again. Mama, Papa and all the other girls persuaded Sarah to drink the soup. Sarah didn't want to give in but in the next morning she was too hungry to persist. She cried and drank a little. Mama gave Sarah the new foods as soon as possible.
