haha wow I am impressed that you found out I started with design!
When I was a few years into design I was playing around with Falsh which led me to scripting.
Later when I was doing design work for a local company in Victoria(维多利亚) I decided that if I was going to do side work that I would like to be able to do every aspect so I started coding.
As far as the 'how' - nothing special really, I don't read books, never went to school, I just read other people's code and always wonder how things work.
