Writing

General

1.There is 1/3 score for T1, 2/3for T2. So it will be better for the student to start T1 first. Because it is the first test for the IELTS, we can use T1 to warm up, but not T2.

2.Writing must reach 150 words inT1 and 250 in T2, and most of the students write 180 in T1 and about 300 in T2.

T2

1.Show your own opinion

2.Like type 2, if title asks ‘bothsides opinions and your own opinions’, your opinion should have another paragraph, with reasons and some example, which is apart from the conclusion.

3.Do not fake survey or report information, just use examples from yourself or friends

TA

1.When topic asks us how many reasons, we should answer at least two reasons

2.If they ask Reasons and solutions, those two paragraphs should have similar amount of sentences

3.Read carefully the topic, answer all the questions.

CC

1.Should try to put linker in the middle of the sentences, not only in the beginning. Showing the flexibility to the examiner.

2.Do not but ‘however’ at the beginning, ‘on the other hand’ will be a much better word.

3.Do not use ‘furthermore’ and ‘moreover’, they are old fashion words and many students use them wrong

T1

1.Write the introduction, (where, when, what)

2.If there are two graphs, use ‘while’to link them.

3.If there is a part called ‘other’, do not just say ‘other’, need to write ‘other what’. (E.g. other resources, other energies)

4.Use some words like, just over, just under, about

LR

1.Use more collocations,

2.notice different combinations(e.g. get on the bus, not get up the bus)

3.it is ok to have some spelling mistake, as long as they do not influence the main meaning (not in the reading test).
