The opinion of the extended family is less important now than it was in the past really shocked me. Although nowadays the family scales are not as big as they maybe 20 years ago, while the relationship remain the same, and will never change no matter how fast and great the world's moving.
People who hold the idea in the beginning should have been effected deeply by the fast spread media and Internet. Some journalists and play writers who are being bought in are those who just want to attract the audiences with low and sad stories.
Actually in the current times, the extended family is playing a even bigger role to small and young families. Just take grandparents as examples, some of them live together with kids and grandkids, take care of them, educate them with knowledge and life experiences. They sacrificed a leisure life style, helping without asking for any feedbacks.
