Be Grateful & Graceful

Compared with the Black Friday just around the corner, which is becoming increasingly popular, I'm personally more into today's Thanksgiving Day. Although by now I haven't got any chance yet to experience an authentic Thanksgiving dinner served with turkey, it won't kill my mood to take this day as a good chance to express my sincere gratitude towards others, who've once given me a hand in my life.

Here in Australia, the first people to thank with priority are certainly Amy and George as well as their cute little Ricky, who are nice and considerate, and most importantly have given me a strong sense of security ever since I arrived at this unfamiliar land. From picking me up at the airport, showing me around in the surrounding area to giving me a treat with yummy home-meal and taking me to local restaurants to comfort my stomach, they take me as a younger sister with full trust and thoughtful caring.

Then it comes to Michael, who acts as my direct leader at the clinic and has taught me a lot about how to speak and behave properly with an enormous amount of patience. What I can still recall very clearly is he once told me the real reason why he agreed to give me the opportunity to get this job, which is normally only open to long-term working staff instead of working holiday visa holders, "Your persistence convinced me eventually." No matter how many remaining days there would be at the current position, I'll value every moment to learn from his shining points.

Another person on my thank-you list is called HeQiao, who's really a very helpful gentleman. Back to a cold and late evening, I got lost at the street and encountered a Chinese-looking father and son. I asked them whether they could show me the direction. HeQiao is the son and he was warm-hearted enough to accompany me all the way walking back home. With stars shining above in the sky, he told me his story, shared with me the lesson he's learnt about health and wished me good luck in the future.

Humble me, I give every effort to stay grateful and graceful.
