我要做这个事情，是被知乎上的一个问题激发的灵感，实际上，过去十年，我应该断断续续翻译了上百首英文歌曲，在搜集过去翻译的同时，我只需要继续坚持翻译下去就好了。

话说，我写这个创作平台写了十年，瞎写一气，竟然写了315万字，看似一事无成。但是，刚刚听Gracie Abrams的《当下自由》时，一时间福至心灵，只有阅读听歌唱歌学歌的我，才是最自由的灵魂。Avicii那首《夜晚》，是对逝世父亲的淡淡怀念与继承遗志，孔子说：父亲走后，三年不改其志，也是一种孝。
其实，我父亲四十年前，给我做的热爱阅读这件“榜样”事件，早就深植入我的内心。哪怕后来，他早就被老母亲改造得面目全非；哪怕我阴差阳错而辍学，辗转天涯，我内心深处，依然是那个三五岁的小孩子模样。
父亲的志向是什么呢？我不知道，我不懂。今天，我翻译这365首英文歌，也是带有某种继承父亲的志向意味吧！起码阅读我没有放弃。
因为，我始终记得40年前，父亲给我做的那个榜样。面对母亲疯狂怒吼，歇斯底里，他仍然热心肠，仍然急公好施，仍然捧着一本“右髯神相”给瞎子阿炳读书，誓要帮助阿炳把算命挣钱的本事学会。阿炳不厌其烦地问，父亲不厌其烦得读，两人经年累月，事毕功成。
知乎问题：
每天坚持背10个单词，能学好英语吗？
我之回答：
一天背10个单词，我不知道能不能学好英语，但是每天背诵一首英文歌词，如此持续它365天。如果忘记了，继续反复背诵，直到彻底记诵住了，最后能够流利 跟着音乐唱出来的话，想必英语应该也学得差不多了。
其实，我已经背了很多天了，我自己又非常喜欢唱歌，因此背诵起来乐此不疲。所以，关键还是要你对这个学习方法对胃口，也就是这个方法，恰好是符合你的兴趣点的。譬如，有人喜欢看电影，ta看了无数遍也不觉得腻烦，那么，ta就可以通过看电影来学英语，先看带翻译的，再看纯英文字幕的，最后，直接看不带字幕的。
不论学什么，我们只能一步步，找到那个关键的兴趣点，循序渐进慢慢来，这样学起来就会既有趣，还有效。
其实，我听歌学英语，也不是胡乱一起听的，我要把英文歌词抄下来，自己尝试翻译一遍，再背诵起来也容易很多。下面分享我这些年学的英文歌，翻译都是我自己动手翻译，只有自己动手的，才会记得特别牢固，看别人的中文翻译，总会差点意思。
有些歌词是我几年前就翻译过了，今次全部整理到这个帖子里，能整理多少就多少，以后还来增加。

❶tequila，[təˈkiːlə]，龙舌兰酒，特奎拉酒(墨西哥产的一种烈性酒);一杯龙舌兰酒;，Mexican plant used especially for making tequila.墨西哥的一种植物,通常被用来制作特奎拉酒。歌词应是一个比喻，形容天空的这种色彩变化，仿佛龙舌兰这种烈酒一样，让人沉醉其间。
❷insane，[ɪnˈseɪn]，字典解释为“adj.疯狂的;精神错乱的;精神失常的;危险的;精神失常的人;精神错乱的人;十分愚蠢的;n.精神失常的人;精神错乱的人”，歌词指疯狂地跳舞，翻译时隐去了我。
❸God knows I lived，这句有的版本是live(全民歌词没有过去式)，并不是过去式，听歌也几乎听不出来有没有过去式。只不过，理解起来可能有一点点区别，倘若是一般形式，没有过去式，我们翻译为“活着”，若是过去式不妨翻译为“活过”。若是“活着”表示一种正在进行时，倘若是“活过”，又和整首歌更符合，毕竟它全首歌都是过去式，譬如有“死过”“爱过”“骗过”嘛。我更倾向于“活过”。百度能查到的歌词也是过去式版本。
林肯公园Iridescent(翻译系列70)

今天(2025年8月1日)摘录“背诵小卡片”内容为Linkin Park 歌曲《彩虹光芒》，英文叫Iridescent，这个词实际上是形容词，翻译成中文，肯定没有人把形容词当题目的，所以才灵活译作“彩虹光芒”，最治愈的几句，也是最高潮和重复吟唱的部分。我给它暂时译为：
你是否感到恶寒，并且迷失中绝望？你建立希望，但失败始终让你彷徨。记住：所有悲伤与沮丧，就此遗忘，就此遗忘！
英文歌词是很押韵的，譬如standing——devastaton——frustration, unknown——down——known。翻译成中文时，我也不妨用题目那个“光芒”的“芒”字来押韵，如绝望——彷徨——沮丧——悲伤——遗忘。

很多时候，我们看字典的中文翻译，会很懵逼，觉得简直是离了个大谱。比如说，这首歌第一句，You were standing in the wake of devastation。关键很显然是the wake of devastation，这个wake当动词用，见得很多，但是当名字用不常见。于是我跑去查金山词霸，如下：
wake，名词，（葬礼前后的）守夜，守灵；(航行中的船等留下的)尾流，航迹；
我向来都是中文对不上，那就赶紧看英文的解释，如下：
Noun ：
1.the consequences of an event (especially a catastrophic event);"the aftermath of war"，"in the wake of the accident no one knew how many had been injured"。
2.the wave that spreads behind a boat as it moves forward;"the motorboat's wake capsized the canoe"
3.a vigil held over a corpse the night before burial;"there's no weeping at an Irish wake"
这回就好理解了，它这个词的中文意思，它只是给出了后两个含义，并没有显出第一个意思。也就是the consequences of an event (especially a catastrophic event)，什么意思，就是说“重要事情的后果、结果(特别是灾难性事件)”，歌词中的devastation是“毁坏，破坏”，这就完全对上了。
鉴于此，连接起来前后句子，我们不妨给第一段译为：

继续看第三段的第一句话是And in a burst of light that blinded every angel，这句话的理解在a burst of light，light这个词很有意思，之前我在翻译梭罗的Walden其中第五章Solitude时候，遇到的light就很是费了一番脑筋急转弯，金次，也不例外。
这次，我们直接看英文解释，如下：

看到这里，都不需要往下继续看了，这里面第四个意思，举例都是差不多的一句话a burst of lightning，歌词原文只不过用了light的原型，不是ing形式。结合前面的devastation和cataclysm等词，这里的毫无疑问就是第四个意思“突然的暴力或粗暴的事情发生”，什么事？当然是light。
其实，light、lightening和lighting这三个词，似乎也有区别。第一个是名词光，第二个是lighten的动词ing形式，意思为“使发光”，第三个是动词light的ing形式，意思为“发光，照亮，点燃”。
鉴于以上分析理解，我们继续翻译如下：

我今天(8月2日)在听Linkin Park的经典歌曲Numb，那种来自“权威”的控制感，扑面而来，简直喘不过气来。我突然想起来我前几个月正在读的A Child Called " It": One Child's Courage to survive，于是把曾经翻译的如上段落摘录过来。
请大家注意其中第二段第二句就有这个numb，原话说My brain became numb, and my legs wobbled.I wanted to disappear. I closed my eyes, wishing her away.看到这里，我就似曾相识的感觉，我仔细搜寻过往几十年的人生，只有几岁时，我妈常常就是给我这种“Numb”的感觉。以至于，哪怕老人家入土为安很多年了，我也不可能走出来这种深深刻入骨子里的麻木感觉。
如果，一个父母以能给到孩子一辈子的“麻木感”，而沾沾自喜，甚至骄傲自得的话，我只想说这样的父母真的很成功。然而，借用上海14岁女孩Jump off the building前的遗书上的话，“你们已经毁了我，请收手这种伤害，因为这一点都不威风。”
我的母亲给我的“麻木感”不威风，Dave Pelzer妈妈给她的深深伤害也不威风，所有虐童的家长给孩子的“创伤”，没有一件事是威风的。

今天休息，我花了不短的时间写这样一篇翻译系列，好久没有写翻译文章了，颇为怀念。最近几乎一直在单曲循环这首英语歌《Innocence》，觉得很有感觉，感想不少，那就决定把它给翻译出来，分享给大家。

我为什么要用《纯美时代》这个翻译呢？innocence这个单词，如果我们去差一点，大致是“纯真无邪、纯洁、无辜、天真”等等说法。但是，如果我们读完了整篇歌词，就会感受到作者的那一份美好的感觉，一幕幕美好的画面，仿佛电影一般展现在我们面前，那如何能不算是一种纯洁的美好时代呢？故有此题。
我们首先来整体感知一下英文歌词，哪怕一句也听不懂，培养下语感也是很不错的。如果一边听歌，一边对照歌词，你会有更多的感悟。

初居岭南，总不适应，总怀念成都的菜，更怀念学校里的那些可爱纯真的孩子们，于是乎，我就在岭南买了火锅底料，回去自己炖川辣火锅吃，然而终究没有纯真无邪的孩子们为伴，终是枉然。

在翻译最后一段时候，如果按照原文I'll be safe in your sound til I come back around翻译，会发现上下文语境有些别扭，比如“直至你旁，听你呼吸，我方能心安”，这和第六段最后一句And you're not here多少有几分格格不入，于是，我把整个句子反过来翻译，就成了“没你在旁，听你呼吸，我实难心安”，这样，同下一句也就很好地接上了。

这首歌是空壳乐队的成名曲，后来更是被蔡依林翻译为《日不落》。这首英文歌名字叫《Sunshine In the Rain》，可以翻译为《雨中阳光》，未必不可以理解为《日不落》，下雨时间亦有阳光，可不就是“日不落”嘛！
BWO(Bodies Without Organs,2003-2010)是一支原瑞典电子流行音乐组合，共有三名成员:马丁·罗林斯基(Martin Rolinski，主唱)、亚历山大·巴德(Alexander Bard，键盘/伴唱/编曲)和玛丽娜·斯西普仁科(Marina Schiptjenko，键盘/伴唱/编曲)。乐队的名字"Bodies Without Organs"取自法国哲学家吉尔·德勒兹提出的哲学概念。
虽然乐队存在时间不长，但是恐怕每一个初遇这个名字的人，都会被名字所好奇，于是英文名翻译为中文就是“没有器官的躯壳”，照我们中国的字面理解，可能会解释成了“没有器官，如心肝肺肾等，那不成了行尸走肉了啊”。
于是，我们就去了解这个乐队名字的由来，想必会很有趣。果不然，这个法国哲学家要比乐队本身更加有趣。德勒兹全名叫Gilles Louis Rene Deleuze，他是整个20世纪后现代主义的最伟大的哲学家，有人夸张的说，20世纪就是德勒兹的世纪。
德勒兹的哲学思想其中一个主要特色就是对欲望的研究，并由此出发到对一切中心化和总体化攻击。这当然不是我这种哲学盲一句话能够讲得清楚的。大家倘若感兴趣，还是去阅读大佬的《反俄狄浦斯》《电影Ⅰ:动作-影像》《电影Ⅱ:时间-影像》《什么是哲学》和《感觉的逻辑》等等。

这首歌很短，只有两段话，像一首美丽的诗歌，英文单词其实是有押韵的，比如home、alone和known很显然在押韵，sky和night也在押韵，sinking in和skin也有同样的意味隽永。翻译时，我尝试用“沉钩”和“颤抖”押韵，以及用“远方”、“回乡”和迷茫，来押韵。最后sky和night实在是不好押韵，只好作罢。
这里面英文有一句很巧妙的比喻，也就是With eyes like echoes in the night，这句话真的很难准确描述，我大致试着解读一下这个有趣的比喻。他说眼睛像夜空中回声一样，实际上，眼睛映照下，自成一方天地。。
sinking in这个词不太好翻译，如果又要有中文的押韵，又要符合原意的话。本意是“沉没、下沉”，我既然把第二句译成了“颤抖”，那就要押韵这个“抖”字，我想到一个词语“史海沉钩”，这里面本来也是一个比喻，恐惧有什么上升和下沉呢？实际上，这个“沉钩”用来形容月亮的，北宋·夏竦在《喜迁莺·霞散绮》写到:“月沉钩，帘卷未央楼。夜凉河汉截天流。截天流，宫阙锁清秋。”诗人写的是残月西沉的意向，多少有几分孤独。林肯公园这首歌这是在写孤独，正好可以借用。然而，这个“史海沉钩”，它是指在历史的汪洋大海中挖掘的意思。

今天继续分享过往翻译得歌词，一首来自The Chainsmokers&Coldplay的Something Just Like This，大概是三年前写的，如下：
《Something Just Like This》翻译系列21
对于The Chainsmokers&Coldplay这两个乐队，我不想过多解释，不如大家自己去了解。但是，这首歌曲却是很多人的喜爱，大众化的翻译可能是《如期简单》，我把它翻译成了《仅此希望》，我也是根据我自己翻译时前后文来定的。实际上，你要翻译成《仅此简单》也可以嘛！翻译本来就没有标准答案。
此外，多说一句，对于英语中的希腊神话人名，我将它翻译成了中国人耳熟能详的英雄和神话人物，也是为了方便我中国人理解。当然，我的翻译并非毫无缘由，Achilles在希腊神话中代表战神，我思来想去，唯有战神刑天可以媲美。而Hercules是希腊神话中的大力神，肯定非“力拔山兮气盖世”的项羽莫属了。

今天分享4年前修改翻译的一首超级老歌曲(实际上这首歌是2013年翻译在扣扣空间，2021年修改首次发布在简书平台)，属于奥斯卡影篇主题曲系列之一，英文名叫I Don't Want To Miss A Thing，而且时写成随笔怎样，如下：

《形影相随》这首歌，我听了十年，这话绝不夸张！中学时那会，我们还没有网络，网吧更是稀罕物。
就那么一个播放机，听着不多的几首歌曲，而这一首是我听的第一首英文歌曲(老师教的那个什么ABC歌不算有感情的歌哈o(□~)o诗歌，诗歌，诗言志，歌永言！既然没有志趣的ABC，我当然不把ta当真的歌了)！
我第一次被《形影相随》这美妙的韵律所吸引，从此一直喜爱这首歌曲，至今仍然时时学习，时时聆听。中文翻译从没有听过，这次还是机缘巧合听到这首歌，我都不会记忆起来！
百度虽然有个翻译，却是太过白话，缺乏经典老歌的古典外衣，那么，待我翻译个古典版本来吧！
我觉得吧，经典的英文，就需要给它配个古典美的翻译，譬如塞缪尔的《青春》，王佐良配的古典翻译就刚刚好！我不懂翻译，但我不自量力，斗胆一试！

十二年前翻译歌词的时候，我还没有形成今天这种分段翻译，那时好像毫无规律，有时候是逐句翻译，有时候又是一段段翻译。不妨我们重新根据分段法修改一遍，如下：
