When I first saw the name of the book ,I think it maybe a easy book about kindness.But when I read the Chapter I,I really disappointed,mostly for its language.I call it "broken sentences". It was written in inregular english or "black" english,causing much difficulty in understanding.However it turned out to be about racism in American Mississippi.
I didn't finish it as scheduled. As for the story, "the help" means black maids worked in the white family to help the housework , baby care,cooking ,cleaning and ironing and so on.I felt very sorry for the little baby girl .Her mother seldom showed affection to her,even though she tried to attract her attention. I can hardly believe that how a mother can be so cold to her own children .Aibileen, the author ,a maid in Mac Mobley Leefolt,gave as much love she can to the baby girl,although she lost her own son . Life wasn't kind to her.There are some description about how the white ladies made discrimination against the colored maids.
To be honest ,I'm really not into this book.
