Today is Tuesday.
Amelia's father stepped on the skimboard and went whizzing toward a large wave. He lost his balance and then clashed on a huge clump of seaweed. Aunt Mary and Amelia's mother said, "We are going to catch some rays." "I'll join you in a jiffy," answered father. If you say that you will do something in a jiffy, you mean that you will do it very quickly or very soon. The children decided to follow their mothers. Amelia asked Jason if he was able to surf. He answered that he didn't have a surfboard, but he could bodysurf. Amelia was confused that she thought she couldn't surf on Jason's body. Jason explained to her that her body was the board and she could ride the wave to the beach. When a big wave came to them, they dove in front of the wave and swam with all their might. They rode the wave all the way to the shore. Jason said to Amelia, "You are a natural surfer girl." Amelia's father focused on something in the water and plucked it out. He was holding a large seashell, the kind sold in the souvenir shops.
