The bar chart, reflected as we've seen above, illustrated how much time of telephone calls in the UK, including three types, from 1995 to 2002.

Local fixed line calls this 7 years, which begins with 71 billion in 1995, growing by 18 billion till 1998 when it was just under 90 billion. There was a slight rise in 1999,  reaching the plateau of 90 billion. After that, a steady decrease doesn't stop until 2002, the year when the figure go back to 72 billion.

National and international fixed line call and mobile calls kept going up in this period. What difference between two is that the former came up with 38 billion in 1995, and then work up till 60 billion, while mobile calls had been increasing sharply just in 3 years started with 1995 before surging exponential beyond 40 billion from 1998, which was four times than the number in 1998.

All in all, the distinguishment in volume between the three is obvious.

The chart shows the time spent of different kinds of phone calls from 1995 to 2002 by British resident.

Local fixed line calls were the highest in the whole period, from 72 billion in 1995 rise just under 90 billion. After reaching the peak at 90 billion, the time went back to the figure of 1995 in 2002.

National and international fixed line steadily increased from 38 billion to 61 billion in the last few years of this period, though the rate slowed down compared with the same time last year.

There was a noticeable ascend on mobile calls between 20 billion and 46 billion minutes,  especially from 1999 to 2002, which was the time when the amount of using frequency obviously go up.

To sum up, though local fixed line still popular in 2002, the gap between three categories is visibly narrow in the half of the period.

The chart shows the time spent by UK residents on different type of telephone calls between 1995 and 2002.

Local fixed line calls were the highest throughout the period, rising from 72 billion minutes in 1995 to just under 90 billion in 1998. After peaking at 90 billion the following year, three calls had fallen back to the 1995 figure by 2002.

National and international fixed line calls grew steadily from 38 billion to 61 billion at the end of the period, though the growth slowed over the last two years.

There was a dramatic increase in mobile calls from 2 billion to 46 billion minutes. This rise was particularly noticeable between 1999 and 2002, during which time the use of mobile phones tripled.

To sum up, although local fixed line calls were still the most popular in 2002, the gap between the three categories had narrow considerably over the second half of the period.
