  • I came back penniless.
  • 拓展：
    My parents would like to spend every cent on me.
    We do not need to spend a cent on a classroom.

• Sound 在口语中很常用

  • It sounds terrible.
  • Sounds like a plan./ Sounds good./ Sounds like a good idea. 听起来不错。

• It was the best vacation ever. 此处ever表强调。
  或者It was the best vacation ever, period.
  Some people say period after stating a fact or opinion when they want to emphasize that they are definite about something and do not want to discuss it further.
