Thank you to our contestants. 感谢愿意站上舞台、挑战自我的选手们。
And thank you to our audience — 因为没有你们，台上的紧张感会少一半。And yes, we need that pressure.
说实话，今天中午当 校长在午餐桌上告诉我：“你下午来主持中文演讲部分吧。”我愣了一下。Because suddenly I realised — how dangerous it is to let a lousy speaker present a speech competition. 万一我自己讲得不行，那就真成反面教材了。
From that moment on, my lunch tasted like stress. 所以我放下餐具，带着职业恐慌，火速回去写稿，以免等会儿站在这里，只剩下 “um… ah… well…”
We all know public speaking is important. Not just for exams, not just for competitions, but for surviving meetings, presentations, and one day… job interviews.
好消息是：我们的学生已经非常清楚这一点，所以他们愿意一次次站出来，哪怕紧张，也愿意尝试。
Today, four students will deliver Chinese speeches on this stage. 今天，将有四位同学进行中文演讲。
They may look calm. But trust me — courage is doing backflips inside them right now. Let’s meet them.
Student A is facing two historic moments today: the youngest contestant, and the only boy student. 压力大吗？Maybe. But experience, talent, and confidence say: “I’ve got this.”
Student B is someone who usually lets words shine quietly on paper. Today, those words step off the page and onto the stage. That alone deserves applause.
Student C brings energy, warmth, and a voice you want to listen to. Choosing to speak today means choosing growth — and also earning lifelong bragging rights.
Student D is already known for communicating through many forms: dance, art, and writing. Today, there’s one more skill unlocked — clear, brave, powerful speech.
As I always say — success does not start with perfect pronunciation, perfect grammar, or perfect confidence. Success starts the moment you walk onto this stage.
So take a deep breath. Enjoy the moment. Make friends with the spotlight. The stage is yours. 舞台，交给你们。
