Why did Rex want to divorce?
In my opinion, the reason was he just didn't know how he's gonna survive Bree.
Bree performed her chores so perfect that Rex felt constrained. All Rex wanted was an ordinary wife who had normal emotions, such as laughing, crying, being angry and so on.
However, no matter how deep Bree was hurt, she always pretended to be calm and graceful on the outside, while she was totally desperated on the inside.
To be honest, concerning Rex, it would be working if Bree just let her emotions out.
