Happy Memorial Day my friends!

Guess what? I made it today! I mean going to the beach. There was no more incident like yesterday morning. That part of the highway was dangerous since drivers going across the road usually don’t realize how fast cars just came out of highway are. They would come right upon you in an instant even though there were warning signs of slowing down.

I felt tired with some muscle pains when I got up this morning. It had crossed my mind whether I should go to the beach and do the hard run on the sand or not. But my experience over the years told me that once I am there and started, I would be fine. It happens the same way as when you are going to exercise after work. You may feel exhausted after a day of busy working. But once you start running or weight lifting, you will feel much better and love it. Trust me. All you have to remember is don’t over do it.

It is a hot and sunny day. There were more tourists on the beach this morning. The beach was perfect, except a little bit windy. There were lot of seaweeds that were pushed ashore by the ocean waves. Sometimes they made running on them more difficult. But you can always find spare sand surface or simply running bare feet in the shallow water. The water was almost crystal clear.

At the turning point of my run, I stopped and practiced Tai Chi right on the edge of the sea water. Imagine the difference between doing this in a living room and in front of the vast ocean! Without doing this, I would have felt my trip to the beach were incomplete.

I also continued listening to the audiobook 《Origin》. My reader friends’ suggestions were right. This book is not suitable for listening while driving. The story was so intriguing, and the scenes were so intense, I was so glad that I could enjoy listening to the story while running on the beach without worrying about any dangerous high speed driving.
