In some cultures it is argued that the old age should be valued, while in some cultures youth is more valued. Discuss both views and give your own opinions.
In some society, it is believed that the old stage of life should be valued, while others think youth is more important. In my point of view, I cannot side with each statement.
In some industries, the elderly has more experience than youth and often occupy dominant positions. For instance, the old doctor has more practical experience than younger doctor since they have met more accidents before and know how to deal with. Generally speaking, the experience is not from the book. In addition, in agriculture field, some problems like how to broadcast seeds might depends on different whether, which also rely on the experiences. So the old people can guide the next generation to cope with matters. Everyone could not escape from getting older and it is not reasonable to think about that the elderly are useless.
However, modern societies with the rapid economic growth usually tend to pay more attention to the young generation. On the one hand, they are the main labor force and have more energy to work. In this way they provide more products and the survives needed by the society, pay taxes to the government. On the other hand, compared with the olds, the youths are the group of high consumption for they may have kids. Under these this situation, the youngest estimate and boost the development of economy.
In conclusion, both young and elderly people should be valued, because they both are the significant part of the society. The olds has once being young and have made contributions to the society, so they should be well treated. The youngsters, shoulder more responsibility for the development, so they should be cherished and granted more support.
