第一次拿到这本书，我还是挺怵的，好几个单词居然不认识，不过查过之后发现还是挺简单的。做妈妈应该都是自己先学了再给小朋友讲吧！这本书讲的是Twenty-four robbers不停knock at my door ,手里拿的是，刀，剑，火把等，想想是不是充满了恐惧？
第一次“Not last night, but the night before,twenty- four robbers came a-knocking at my door ”“I asked them what they wanted”“And this is what they said”“H-O-T,Hot peppers !!!”这时候你看到的robbers脸上充满的是孩子般童真的笑容，又蹦又跳，似乎气氛又欢快了很多。“I gave them my peppers,and then they rode away”然后进入第二次“But twenty-four robbers came back the next day”情节重复前面的“I asked them what they wanted”“And this is what they said”“H-O-T,Hot peppers !!!”“……so they took a cob of corn ”“……see you in the morn ”进入下一个回合，读这本书前面的情节让人精神一直处于一种紧张的状态“See you in an hour”时间越来越短，作为“I”不知道是不是内心充满了无奈和不安。“I opened my door”“we like you a lot !”结局蛮出人意料“they gave me a pot of hot pepper stew”最后是一个一起狂欢的场景……充满了惊喜和和平。
